Barbara Opall-Rome is a 35-year veteran of the print and broadcast media.

She established the Israel Bureau of Defense News in 1999, after reporting on the Pentagon, US arms sales, and military deployments/conflicts on four continents. She retired after 30 years with this leading international trade publication in September, 2018.

In January, 2017, she created Strictly Security, an hour-long weekly show on defense, technology and strategic affairs, which airs internationally on the i24News network. She retired from her role as Executive Editor and Host of the show in June 2019 to focus on an exciting new project. Stay tuned for updates!

She’s an alumna of the Jerusalem Post, where she reported on police and justice affairs from 1982-1986 and of American University in Washington, DC.

Opall-Rome is happily married to Zvi Steve Rome and the proud mother of two children, one son-in-law, two stepchildren and their four fabulous kids.
